One Body

One Body Special Needs Ministry

Hope’s special needs ministry, One Body, is available for families and individuals affected by special needs to provide an inclusive opportunity for all to worship, learn, and connect with their peers. Everyone deserves the opportunity to experience worship and learn about God’s love for them.

We have trained One Body volunteers who collaborate with families to hear and understand how they can provide resources and support for children and students with special needs in behavior, physical, cognitive, or medical areas. At Hope Grimes, volunteers will be assigned to work with a child or student to support, teach, or lead them through large group activities and breakouts, or in a separate classroom. Our goal is to ensure children and students can remain independent and included in as much programming as possible.

One Body Schedule

One Body HopeKids is available Sundays at 9:30 & 11:00 am for age 3 – grade 5. One Body Student Ministry (PowerLife and Ignition) is available on Wednesdays for grades 6-12.

One Body is available during all VBS sessions in July. If support is needed and a volunteer is available, buddies are provided to experience VBS with children who have special needs. Our One Body coordinator works with families ahead of time to help best support their students.
